God Will Make A Way - Day 3

Day 3: Treasure in the Dark

Devotional

Nobody chooses the dark seasons. The grief, the waiting, the silence from God that feels unbearable. We pray for the breakthrough, and sometimes it feels like nothing is happening. But some of the most important things God ever does in us happen in the dark. Joseph found purpose in a prison. Moses encountered God in the wilderness. David wrote songs in caves that have strengthened generations of believers. Paul and Silas discovered that even at midnight, worship is possible and revival can break out in the most unlikely places. Isaiah 45 speaks of hidden treasures in dark places. That is not just poetic language. It is a promise. God is not absent in your hardest seasons. He is doing some of His most significant work there. In the darkness, prayer stops being a routine and becomes a genuine cry of the heart. In the darkness, you discover that His presence is not dependent on how you feel. In the darkness, His Word becomes an anchor, not just information. The dark season you are walking through right now is not wasted. God is forming something in you that could not be formed any other way. Hold on. The treasure is real, and it is closer than you think.

Bible Verse
"I will give you the treasures of darkness and hidden riches of secret places, that you may know that I, the Lord, who call you by your name, am the God of Israel." - Isaiah 45:3 (New King James Version (NKJV))

Reflection Question
Looking back at a difficult season in your life, can you identify something valuable that God formed in you that could only have come through that experience?

Quote
In the darkness, we learn his presence is not dependent on our feelings. In the darkness, we learn his word remains true when circumstances appear contradictory to our hope. In the darkness, prayer becomes more than a religious exercise. It becomes a cry of the heart. Pastor John Pool

Prayer
God, help me to trust You in the dark places. Open my eyes to see what You are doing even when I cannot feel it, and give me the courage to keep going. Amen.
