Day 1: He Moved In to Stay
Devotional
When you invited Jesus into your life, something extraordinary happened that many believers don't fully grasp. The Holy Spirit didn't just drop by for a quick visit or show up for Sunday service—He moved in permanently. This is radically different from Old Testament times when God's Spirit would come upon people temporarily for specific tasks, then depart. Think about how different your life would be if you truly believed that the Creator of the universe has taken up permanent residence within you. You're not just carrying around good intentions or religious knowledge—you're carrying the very presence of God. This isn't about feeling spiritual emotions or having goosebumps during worship. This is about recognizing that the same Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead is alive and active within you right now. The question isn't whether God's Spirit is present in your life; the question is whether you're living like He is. When we truly understand this truth, it changes everything—how we face challenges, how we treat others, and how we see ourselves. You are not alone in this journey. You never have been.
Bible Verse
'In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise.' - Ephesians 1:13 (New King James Version)
Reflection Question
If you truly believed that God's Spirit has permanently moved into your life, what would you do differently today?
Quote
From the moment of salvation, God's spirit took up residence within you. Now remember, he didn't come for a visit. He didn't come for a visit. He moved in. - Kathy Pool
Prayer
Holy Spirit, help me to fully grasp that You haven't just visited my life—You've made Your home in me. Transform my understanding of who I am because of Your permanent presence within me. In Jesus name amen!
