The Hidden Power Of Unbelief - Day 1

Day 1: Believing God or Trusting God?

Devotional
Some things become so routine that we stop noticing them. You can brush your teeth every morning and then stand in the kitchen ten minutes later wondering whether you did. It is just something you do.

Faith can drift into that same kind of routine. We hear about it so often and quote verses about it so easily that we can believe we have it when we really don't. We agree with the Bible in our heads, but it never makes it into how we live.

There is a huge difference between believing that God exists and actually trusting His Word enough to build your life on it. James 2:19 says even the demons believe there is one God, and they tremble. Believing He exists is not the same thing as living by faith.

Faith is more than agreeing with what the Bible says. It is letting what God says govern how you think, how you respond to life, what you choose, and how you live. You can quote John 3:16, but when you feel unloved, do you put yourself in that verse and believe God loves you that much?

Hebrews 11:6 is not God being hard on us. It is God showing us how life works. Faith is the fuel. Today, don't just agree with God. Trust Him.

Bible Verse
"But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him." - Hebrews 11:6 (New King James Version (NKJV))

Reflection Question
Where has your faith become routine, something you agree with in your head but don't really lean on when life gets hard?

Quote
"There is a huge difference between believing that God exists and actually trusting His word."

Prayer
Lord, I don't want a faith that is just routine. Teach me to trust Your Word enough to build my life on it, not just to agree with it. Amen.
