Jesus Understands - Day 5

Day 5: Cast It on the One Who Carried It First

Devotional

Over these past few days, we have walked through some deep truths. Jesus enters into your suffering with you. Faith is allowed to cry. God's promise is your anchor in the waiting. And your circumstances do not get to define who God is. Now here is where it all lands: you do not have to carry this alone. 1 Peter 5:7 says to cast all your care on Him, because He cares for you. That word "cast" is active. It is a decision. It means you take what you have been gripping tightly and you release it into His hands. And here is what makes that possible: He is not just a God who cares about you in theory. He cares for you because He has lived through it. He knows what exhaustion feels like. He knows rejection, grief, and the weight of unanswered questions. He is not distant from your need. He is deeply moved by it. Psalm 103 reminds us that as a Father has compassion on His children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear Him. He knows your frame. He remembers that you are human. God has been faithful. You may not always see it in the moment, but you will see it. Cast your care on Him today. He has got you.

Bible Verse
"casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you." - 1 Peter 5:7 (New King James Version (NKJV))

Reflection Question
What is one burden you have been carrying on your own that you need to actively release to God today, and what is making it hard to let go?

Quote
"God has been faithful. If there's anything. Amen. If there is anything that I learned in that experience is that how faithful God is, how good He really is. Sometimes we don't always see it in the moment, but we certainly see it in hindsight."- Pastor John Pool

Prayer

Father, I choose to cast my cares on You right now. Thank You that You are not distant from what I am carrying, but that You are deeply moved by it and fully able to hold it. I trust You. Amen.
