Day 2: One With Him
Devotional
What if the most important truth about your relationship with God is not that He is near you, or even that He is with you, but that He is one with you? First Corinthians 6:17 says that whoever is joined to the Lord is one Spirit with Him. Not close to Him. Not connected to Him from a distance. One with Him. This is not poetic language. It is a declaration of spiritual reality that should reshape everything about how you see yourself and how you approach God. Jesus used the image of a vine and its branches to help us understand this. The branch does not become the vine, but it shares the vine's life completely. The same sap, the same nutrients, the same life flows through both. As long as the branch remains in the vine, it lacks nothing the vine has. That is you. Right now. You are not striving to get closer to God. You are already in Him, and He is already in you. His righteousness, His strength, His peace, all of it flows to you through this union. This truth is not reserved for pastors or missionaries or people who have it all together. It is for you, today, exactly where you are. You are already in the right place. You just need to believe it.

How would your daily life look different if you truly believed that you are already one with Christ, rather than someone trying to earn closeness with God?
