Jesus Is The Answer - Day 5

Day 5: Complete Surrender

Devotional

The hardest part about following Jesus isn't learning the rules or memorizing verses - it's surrendering control. We want to manage our own lives, fix our own problems, and maintain some level of independence. But salvation isn't God helping basically good people become better; it's God bringing dead sinners back to life. Dead people don't revive themselves or improve their own situations. They need someone else to act on their behalf. This is why Jesus is the answer - because without Him, we simply can't do it. The breakthrough comes when we finally reach the place where we can take both our life and our death and put them completely in His hands, saying, "I trust You." This isn't a sign of weakness; it's the beginning of true strength. When we stop trying to control everything and start trusting the One who holds all things together, we discover a peace and power we never knew was possible. Your salvation is absolutely incredible - not because of what you've done, but because of what He has done.

Bible Verse
'But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved)' - Ephesians 2:4-5 (NKJV)

Reflection Question

What areas of your life are you still trying to control instead of placing them completely in God's hands?

Quote
When you finally come to a place where you could take both your life and your death and
put them in his hands and say, I trust you, you're getting it. - Pastor John Pool

Prayer
Lord, help me surrender complete control of my life to You. I trust that You are better at managing my life than I am, and I choose to rest in Your perfect love and wisdom. In Jesus name amen.
