Be Strong In The Lord - Day 5

Day 5: Rest Is Not Giving Up

Devotional
For many people, rest feels like quitting. If you are not striving, pushing, or working toward something, it can feel like you are falling behind. But the rest that God calls you into is nothing like that. Resting in Christ is not passive. It is one of the most active, intentional decisions a believer can make. It means choosing every day to stop trying to earn what has already been given, to stop fighting for what is already yours, and to simply abide in the One who has already won. Abiding is the key. When you stay connected to God through His Word, through prayer, and through trust, you are not doing nothing. You are positioning yourself to receive everything He has already provided. Healing, peace, strength, and righteousness are not destinations you are trying to reach. They are realities you are learning to walk in. This is the invitation at the end of it all: stop stressing about the question and start standing on the answer. The answer is not a strategy or a formula. The answer is a Person, and His name is Jesus. You do not have to have it all together. You just have to stay close to Him. That is where everything you need already lives.

Bible Verse
"But You, O Lord, are a God full of compassion, and gracious, longsuffering and abundant in mercy and truth." - Psalm 86:15 (New King James Version (NKJV))

Reflection Question
What would it practically look like for you to choose rest and abiding in Christ this week instead of striving in your own strength?

Quote
"I'm done stressing on the question. And what I'm going to do is start stressing on the answer. And the answer is, be strong in the Lord."

Prayer
Father, teach me what it truly means to rest in You. Help me to stop striving and to trust that everything I need is already found in Jesus. Amen.
