Faith That Moves Mountain's Pt 3 - Day 1

Day 1: Faith Is More Than a Feeling

Devotional
We throw the word "faith" around a lot, but what does it actually mean? It is easy to confuse faith with optimism or a vague hope that things will work out. But biblical faith is something far more solid than that. Hebrews 11:1 describes faith as substance and evidence. Not feelings. Not wishful thinking. Substance. That means faith has weight to it. It is the settled persuasion that what God has promised is already being performed, even when you cannot see it yet. Think about Abraham. He was fully convinced of God's promise without wavering, even when every circumstance around Him said otherwise. He did not pretend the obstacles did not exist. He simply chose to trust that God's word was more reliable than what His eyes could see. That same quality of faith is available to you today. Whatever you are walking through right now, God's promises have not expired. His word is still active, still true, and still working on your behalf. You do not need perfect conditions to exercise faith. You just need to anchor yourself to what God has already said and refuse to let go.

Bible Verse

"Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." - Hebrews 11:1 (New King James Version (NKJV))

Reflection Question

In what area of your life have you been relying on feelings or circumstances to define your faith, rather than anchoring yourself to what God has promised?

Quote
"Faith is settled persuasion, it's the confident assurance that what God says is happening is happening."

Prayer
Lord, thank You that my faith does not have to depend on what I can see. Help me to anchor myself deeply in Your promises today and trust that You are already at work. Amen.
