Faith That Moves Mountain's Pt 2 - Day - 2

Day 2: Faith Is a Gift, Not a Grind

Devotional

A lot of people carry a quiet guilt about their faith. They feel like they are not believing hard enough, not praying with enough intensity, not doing enough to earn a breakthrough. But that picture of faith is exhausting, and it is not what Scripture teaches. Jesus said in Mark 11:22 to have the faith of God. Not faith in God, but the faith of God. That is a significant distinction. The faith that moves mountains does not originate with you. It comes from Him. It is a gift, and like every good gift, it is received, not achieved. Think about salvation for a moment. You did not earn it. You could not. You simply received what God had already provided. Faith works the same way. It is not something you manufacture through willpower or emotional intensity. It is something God gives, and it grows as you stay connected to Him. This is genuinely good news. You do not have to rev yourself up or perform your way into greater faith. You simply need to receive what He has already placed inside of you and begin to develop it through time in His Word and in His presence. You already have what you need. Today is a great day to start trusting that.

Bible Verse

"Have faith in God." - Mark 11:22 (New King James Version (NKJV))

Reflection Question

In what areas of your life have you been straining to generate faith on your own, rather than receiving it as something God has already given you?

Quote

"Faith is not something that I gotta really rev up inside of me, but it is something that God gives me, that comes from Him."

Prayer

Father, thank You that faith is Your gift to me, not something I have to earn. Teach me to receive it and develop it, rather than striving to create it on my own. Amen.
