Day 1: His Goodness Is Personal

It is easy to say "God is good" without truly believing it applies to you personally. We can affirm it as a general truth while quietly wondering if He is really that involved in our specific lives, our specific struggles, our specific story. But His goodness is not a broad, distant quality. It is personal. When Moses asked to see God's glory, God did not respond with a display of power or a demonstration of might. He made His goodness pass before Moses. That was the answer. His glory and His goodness are the same thing, and that goodness is directed toward you. Jesus is the clearest picture of what the Father is like. He went about doing good, healing the sick, stopping for the overlooked, and caring for the forgotten. That same compassion is not a thing of the past. It is extended to you today. You do not have to earn your way into His care or prove that your situation is serious enough to deserve His attention. His goodness flows from who He is, not from what you have done. And because it is rooted in His nature, it never runs out. Start here. Let this truth settle into your heart: God is good, and that goodness is meant for you.
