Day 2: You Are Already Strong
Devotional
Most of us hear the phrase "be strong" and immediately feel the pressure to produce something we do not currently have. We think it means try harder, push further, or dig deeper. But what if that is the wrong way to read it entirely? Ephesians 6:10 does not say become strong. It says be strong in the Lord. That one word, be, changes everything. It is not a command to manufacture something new. It is an invitation to step into something that already exists. God is not standing at a distance, waiting for you to get it together before He helps you. He is not frustrated by your weakness or surprised by your struggle. The strength He is pointing you toward is His own, and it is already available to you right now. This is genuinely good news. You do not have to earn your way into strength. You do not have to perform your way into peace. You simply have to believe that what God says about you is true and begin living from that place. You are not trying to become something. You are stepping into who God has already declared you to be. That is a completely different starting point, and it changes everything about how you face today.
Bible Verse
"Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might." - Ephesians 6:10 (New King James Version (NKJV))
Reflection Question
In what area of your life have you been striving to produce strength on your own, and what would it look like to simply receive it from God instead?
Quote
"God ultimately, in the end, showed me that He wasn't telling me to manufacture more strength. He was teaching me how to draw upon his strength."
Prayer
Father, thank You that Your strength is already available to me. Help me to stop striving and start trusting that what You have provided is more than enough for what I am facing. Amen.
