Day 3: Watch What You Are Saying
Devotional
Your words are not neutral. They carry weight, and they reveal something important: what is actually going on in your heart. If your conversations are constantly filled with fear, worst-case scenarios, and statements about what you cannot do or what will never change, that is worth paying attention to. Not with shame, but with honesty. Speaking your symptoms, your limitations, and your doubts out loud does not just describe your situation. It reinforces it. On the other hand, speaking what God says, even when it feels like a stretch, begins to shift the atmosphere around you and inside of you. This is not about pretending everything is fine. It is about choosing to speak a higher reality. Jesus bore sickness, sin, and shame so that you would not have to carry them. That is already done. The question is whether your words are agreeing with what He accomplished or with what the enemy is trying to convince you of. Start small. When fear rises up, pause before you speak it. Replace it with a declaration of what God says. It may feel awkward at first, but there is real power in aligning your words with truth. You are a supernatural person, and your words matter more than you think.
Bible Verse
"He Himself took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses." - Matthew 8:17 (New King James Version (NKJV))
Reflection Question
What is one thing you have been speaking over your life that does not line up with what God says is true about you?
Quote
The power of life and death are in the tongue. The Bible also says that we’ll be justified or condemned by our words.
Prayer
Jesus, help me to speak life today. Where my words have been agreeing with fear or defeat, give me the courage to align them with Your truth instead. Amen.
