Day 2: You Are Not Who You Used to Be

Devotional
Here is something worth sitting with today: you are not the same person you were before Christ. That is not motivational language. It is a spiritual reality. At salvation, something miraculous happened inside of you. Your Spirit was made completely new, and the old version of you passed away. The tricky part is that your mind did not automatically get the update. You can be a brand new creation on the inside while still thinking like the old you on the outside. That gap between what is true in your Spirit and what feels true in your mind is exactly where so many people get stuck. This is why renewing your mind through Scripture is not optional. It is how the miracle that happened in your Spirit begins to show up in your everyday life. God's Word is not just information. It is transformation. The more you fill your mind with what God says about you, the more your thinking begins to align with who you actually are in Christ. You are not fighting to become something. You are learning to live out what you already are. That shift in perspective changes everything. Give yourself grace in the process, and keep coming back to the Word.

You are not the same person. Now. I know you may look in the mirror and go, well, I look the same. You know, sometimes I think the same. But that’s interesting to me that when you go back into the Bible and you begin to study the Word of God, one of the first things that is to happen in our salvation is we’re to have our mind renewed and our mind is renewed through the word of God.

Prayer
Lord, renew my mind today. Where my thoughts do not line up with Your truth, replace them with what You say about me. Help me to live from the inside out. Amen.
