Faith That Moves Mountain's - Day 2

Day 2: Faith Believes. Trust Sits Down.

Devotional

There is a difference between knowing a chair will hold you and actually sitting down in it. That gap, right there, is the difference between faith and trust.
Faith is what you believe about God. Trust is what you do because of what you believe. You can know all the right things about God, believe every word of Scripture, and still find yourself standing next to the chair instead of resting in it.

Think about a child being tossed in the air by a parent for the first time. That first jump is pure faith. The child has no grid for what is about to happen, but something in them says this person is safe. The second time? That is trust. Experience has confirmed what faith first believed.

God is not asking you to manufacture something you do not have. He is inviting you to take what you already believe about Him and let it move you. Let it change how you respond to hard news. Let it shape how you pray. Let it determine where you place the weight of your life.

You do not have to have it all figured out. You just have to be willing to sit down. Trust is not a feeling you wait for. It is a decision you make based on who God has already shown Himself to be.

Bible Verse
"Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses." - 1 Timothy 6:12 (New King James Version (NKJV))

Reflection Question
Is there an area of your life right now where you believe the right things about God but have not yet been willing to place the full weight of your situation into His hands?

Quote
"Faith says, I believe him. Trust says, then I will put the weight of my life upon Him."

Prayer
Father, I believe You are good and that You are trustworthy. Give me the courage today to stop standing beside the chair and to actually rest in You. Amen.
