Hungering For The God Of Revival - Day 1

Day 1: More Than Going Through the Motions

Devotional

It is easy to fill your week with church activities, Bible reading, and serving others, and still feel like something is missing. If you have ever sat in a service and wondered why it all feels a little hollow, you are not alone. Many people experience exactly that. The truth is, none of those good things were ever meant to replace the one thing that matters most: knowing God personally. Scripture tells us that when you are joined to God, you are one with Him. That is not a distant, formal relationship. He is not watching you from afar. He lives in you. That reality is meant to change everything about how you approach your faith each day. Christianity was never designed to be a checklist. It was designed to be a living, breathing relationship with Jesus Christ. And relationships require more than showing up. They require presence, attention, and genuine desire. If your faith has started to feel routine, take heart. That feeling is actually an invitation. It is God stirring something deeper in you, calling you back to what your heart was made for. You were not created to simply attend church. You were created to know Him.

Bible Verse
"But he who is joined to the Lord is one Spirit with Him." - 1 Corinthians 6:17 (New King James Version (NKJV))

Reflection Question
In what areas of your faith have you been going through the motions rather than genuinely pursuing a deeper connection with God?

Quote
"Revival is a heaven sent awakening that brings us back to our first love. It brings us back and restores holiness. It renews spiritual hunger. And it fills us with fresh power.” Pastor John Pool

Prayer
Lord, forgive me for the times I have settled for religious routine over real relationship with You. Stir my heart today and draw me closer to who You truly are. Amen.
