He's In You - Day 4

Day 4: Keep Stirring, Get a Bigger Spoon

Devotional
Spiritual growth isn't a one-time event—it's a continuous process of stirring up what God has placed within you. Just like making a good soup requires constant stirring to prevent burning and ensure proper mixing, your spiritual life requires consistent attention and action. We all start with different sized 'spoons'—different levels of spiritual capacity—but here's the beautiful truth: as you keep stirring, God supernaturally increases your capacity for more of Him. Jesus taught us to pray and keep praying, knock and keep knocking, seek and keep seeking. This isn't because God is reluctant to answer, but because the process of persistent pursuit transforms us and expands our ability to receive what He wants to give. When you consistently engage in prayer, Bible study, worship, and acts of faith, something supernatural happens. Your spiritual appetite grows. Your faith increases. Your ability to sense God's presence and hear His voice expands. The presence of God begins to flow through you and seep out of your pores, affecting everyone around you. Don't get discouraged if you feel like you're starting small. Keep stirring. Keep pressing in. God will give you a bigger spoon.

Bible Verse
'Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.' - Matthew 7:7 (New King James Version)

Reflection Question
In what areas of your spiritual life do you need to move from occasional stirring to
consistent, persistent action?

Quote
What's great about God is that as we keep stirring and as we keep just going and pressing in, our spoon supernaturally gets bigger. And God gives us a capacity for more. - Kathy Pool

Prayer
God, help me to be persistent in pursuing You. Increase my spiritual capacity as I faithfully stir up the gifts You've given me. In Jesus name amen!
