Jesus, Faithful And True - Day 1

Day 1: Living with Blessed Hope

Devotional

For nearly 2,000 years, Christians have carried a beautiful secret in their hearts - Jesus is coming back. This isn't wishful thinking or escapism; it's the blessed hope that transforms how we live today. When the angels promised His return at the ascension, they weren't giving us a reason to sit idle, but rather a source of strength for the journey ahead. This hope doesn't make us less effective in our earthly responsibilities; it makes us more resilient. When bills pile up, relationships strain, or health fails, we remember that our story doesn't end here. We have a citizenship that transcends earthly troubles, and that perspective changes everything. Living with this eternal viewpoint doesn't mean we ignore present realities, but we face them with supernatural confidence. The difficulties of today are temporary, but our hope in Christ is eternal.

Bible Verse
'For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.' - Philippians 3:20 (New King James Version)

Reflection Question
How does knowing that your true citizenship is in heaven change the way you approach today's challenges?

Quote
We as God's people are meant to live with a hope that is beyond this world. We have a blessed hope, and that is that Jesus is coming.- Pastor Alex Wilson

Prayer
Lord, help me live with the blessed hope of Your return, finding strength in knowing that my true home is with You. Give me an eternal perspective that brings peace to my present circumstances. In Jesus name amen.
